What are the differences between anodized aluminum veneer and ordinary aluminum

Time:2024-03-12 09:42:43

Anodized aluminum veneer, also known as aluminum veneer, is treated by anodizing process, which utilizes the principle of electrochemistry. Under the electrolyte solution, a dense oxide film is formed on the surface of the aluminum veneer, which is called anodizing of the aluminum veneer surface. So, what are the differences between anodized aluminum veneer and ordinary aluminum veneer? Today, the editor will popularize this knowledge for everyone, hoping to be helpful.

1、 The difference between anodized aluminum veneer and ordinary aluminum veneer

1. Better surface quality

If ordinary aluminum veneer is not handled carefully during processing or transportation, it is easy to cause unevenness on the surface of the aluminum veneer. Anodized aluminum veneer, on the other hand, is much stronger than ordinary aluminum veneer in terms of smoothness and flatness. This is mainly due to the more exquisite production process and more delicate surface treatment of anodized aluminum veneer.

2. Rich colors and good decoration

The ordinary aluminum veneer we usually see is basically one color - gray, while anodized aluminum veneer has a much richer color, which is more conducive to the color needs of many homeowners, especially for the exterior wall decoration of buildings. This is also one of the reasons why aluminum veneer manufacturers like this product.

3. Long service life

Due to the addition of an oxide coating, the anodized aluminum veneer forms a protective layer that isolates the aluminum panel from the outside world. Therefore, the rust prevention performance of the anodized aluminum veneer is excellent, and it can also extend the service life of the surface metal. At the same time, the added oxide coating also makes the material surface more wear-resistant.

4. Good processing performance

Anodizing oxidation can fold and bend edges, and its processing performance is much better than ordinary aluminum veneers. Manufacturers can produce different specifications and sizes according to different needs, and its weather resistance is also particularly good. It can be used normally under any weather conditions, and can also be used for a long time in the face of salt, alkali, acid rain, which ordinary aluminum veneers cannot achieve.

2、 The oxidation coloring method of anodized alumina veneer

1. Chemical coloring method

Immerse the oxidized aluminum veneer into an organic or inorganic dye solution, and the dye penetrates into the pores of the oxide film, causing chemical or physical reactions and coloring. Chemical coloring equipment is simple, low-cost, and has a variety of colors, but it has poor light and corrosion resistance, making it only suitable for indoor decoration.

2. Electrolytic coloring method

Aluminum veneers treated with oxidation undergo secondary electrolysis in a single metal salt or multiple metal salt solutions. Under the action of an electric field, metal cations infiltrate the pores of the oxide film and deposit at the bottom of the pores, resulting in the oxide film producing bronze, brown, gray, red, blue, and other color tones.

3. Natural coloring method

There are two methods for coloring aluminum veneers during anodizing: alloy coloring method and solution coloring method. Alloy coloring method is to control the composition of aluminum alloy to obtain different color tones, while solution coloring method, also known as electrolytic coloring method, is to control the composition of electrolyte and electrolytic conditions to control the color tone. In actual production, natural coloring generally uses organic acids as electrolytes and adds a small amount of sulfuric acid to regulate pH.
